The change-over of the HK 40’s superstructure engine to the Euromot 4 exhaust emission standard was an impetus for us to continue to optimize the crane regarding its range of applications and its service-friendliness. Thus, e. g. the counterweight allocation was modified so that you can now transport a total counterweight of 5.5 t instead of 4.5 t on the crane in the scope of a special permit for a gross vehicle weight of 33 tons.* This means that you can increase the HK 40’s performance considerably while expanding its range of applications. This also applies to the new feature “Asymmetric outrigger base” which you already know from our All-Terrain Cranes. As of now, the crane control system of the HK 40 enables the maximum possible lifting capacities for each sector of the four outriggers, thus enhancing the crane’s performance thanks to extending the outriggers to different lengths on confined construction sites. Regarding service-friendliness, the new HK 40 scores points with its serial centralized lubrication system in the superstructure and improved access to relevant maintenance components.
